Izumo Daijingū 出雲大神宮

Originally built in 709 AD and reconstructed by Takaiji Ashikaga during the 14th century, Izumo Daijingū (Izumo Grand Shrine) was officially designated an important cultural asset during the 20th century.

Clean water from Mikage Mountain flows into the famous well of this shrine. Drinking the water from this well is believed to bring good luck. It is also believed that by visiting Izumo Daijingū you will meet your true love and have a lasting relationship.

From JR Kameoka Station

• Take the Furusato Bus F11 line to Izumo jinja mae (出雲神社前). The shrine is a short walk from the bus stop.
