About the National Pension　国民年金について

Anyone with an address in Japan age 20~59 must join the National Pension. People are categorized into one of the 3 following groups based on their employment status, etc.

※Persons Who Can Enroll in the National Pension System by Choice

• Persons age 60~64 with an address in Japan
• Persons under the age of 60 with an address in Japan who are receiving Pension for the Elderly or Retiree's Pension from another public pension
• Japanese nationals age 20~64 living abroad
• Persons age 65~69 who were unable to receive Pension for the Elderly or Retiree's Pension when they turned 65 (only until they become able to receive their pension)

国民年金は日本に住んでいる20歳～59歳のすべての人が入る制度です。入っている人は仕事などにより3つのグループに分かれます。

※国民年金に希望で入ることができる人

• 日本に住所がある60歳～64歳の人
• 日本に住所がある59歳までの人で、ほかの公的年金から老齢（退職）年金を受けている人
• 海外に住んでいる20歳～64歳の日本人
• 65歳になったときに老齢（退職）年金を受けることができない65歳～69歳の人（年金を受けることができるまでの間）

How to Join　国民年金に入るとき

Anyone in Group 1 listed above should visit the Citizens Affairs Section (市民課 shimin ka) on the 1st floor of Kameoka City Hall to complete the paperwork to sign up for the National Pension.

*When any of the following occur, you need to turn in a "Change of Group" form (種別変更届　shubetsu henkō todoke):

• You retire
• You get married or divorced
• Your pension group changes due to a change in employment or a raise or reduction of salary

上の(1)の「第1号被保険者」に当たる人は、市役所1階の市民課に行って、加入の手つづきをしてください。

※次のときは、「種別変更」の届け出が必要です

• 退職したとき
• 結婚または離婚したとき
• 収入が増えたり減ったりしたことによって種別（(1)、(2)、(3)のグループ）が変わったとき
